We recommend activating your card online for the fastest processing (instructions for online activation can be found below), but if you find yourself without an internet connection, you can activate over the phone. You need only contact RBC customer service to proceed with your card activation. Begin by dialing the toll-free number that applies to your situation: 1 (877) 900-5900 for personal or business credit cards. 1 (888) 769-2597 for private banking cards. Once you’ve been connected with an account specialist or the automated system, you will be walked through the brief process of getting your card up and running. (You may be given the option of choosing BalanceProtector, an optional account protection service, but you’re not required to sign up.)

The easiest way to activate your new card is through BoA’s online activation portal. Begin by visiting the site here: bankofamerica.com/activate. Once you’ve connected, you will be prompted to enter your online banking User ID and password. NOTE: If you’re not currently enrolled as an online banking customer with Bank of America, you’ll be able to do so now. Be sure to take advantage of all the great benefits once you do! Once you’ve logged in, you will need to enter your card’s 16-digit number and expiration date. You will also be prompted to enter the three-digit security code that’s located on the back of your new card.
